December-Christmas Gift Wrapping
Once again our Christmas Gift Wrapping event at Lansdowne Place Mall will be taking place for the month of December (December 3rd - 24th). This is a very successful fundraising event for the agency and has been a great source of fun and inspiration for all who have taken part. We have enjoyed the assistance of a varied source of volunteers, from regular members of the community, Bigs with their Littles, staff, agency volunteers, media personalities, and more! The shifts are usually 4 hours in length, 9:30am - 1:30pm, 1:30pm - 5:30pm and 5:30pm - 9:00/10:00pm depending on the mall hours. You can call our office and book your time according to your schedule. Anyone who has a hard time getting into the spirit of the season is sure to enjoy taking part, as you can't help having fun! It's contagious! Anyone interested in taking part and/or getting more information can call the agency and we will be happy to take your name and tell you all about it.

What, Where, When and How?
Bowl For Kid's Sake, Friday, February 10th, 2012.
We will be holding the main event at Peterborough Bowlerama in Brookdale Plaza,
Chemong Rd. Bigs and Littles are encouraged to take part by collecting pledges
from friends and family on behalf of their team and to participate in the event
by either bowling as part of a team or as a match. Bigs and Littles can call the
agency and sign up in December. This would give you first choice of the day and
time that you wish to bowl and will give you a head start on your pledge requests
throughout the Christmas holidays.
O.F.A.H Tackle Share Program
The Ontario Federation of Angler and Hunters program is helping to put rods and reels into the hands of single-parent children by bringing its acclaimed Tackle Share Program to Big Brothers & Big Sisters of Peterborough. Through this loaner program, kids and their mentors can sign out fishing rods and assorted tackle the same way they would borrow library materials. The Peterborough area offers fantastic outdoor opportunities for kids and families. Our partnership with the O.F.A.H. gives local youth an alternative to video games and television.
